Residents across the UAE can expect fair to partly cloudy weather on Sunday, February 1, as stable conditions continue across most parts of the country, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). However, authorities have issued red and yellow fog alerts, warning of reduced visibility during the early morning hours.
Low clouds are expected to form over coastal and northern regions, with fog developing in some internal and coastal areas between 4.15 am and 10 am. Visibility may drop significantly during this period, prompting traffic advisories and precautionary measures on major roads.
In response to the fog alerts, Abu Dhabi Police reduced the speed limit to 80km/h on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road (ICAD–Hameem Bridge), urging motorists to drive cautiously, maintain safe distances, and avoid sudden lane changes. Drivers are advised to follow electronic road signage and official updates throughout the morning commute.
Temperatures across the country are expected to remain comfortable and below 30°C, making for pleasant daytime conditions. Abu Dhabi is forecast to see a low of around 15°C, while Dubai will dip to approximately 16°C during the cooler hours of the day. Daytime highs are expected to remain mild, with little change from recent conditions.
Winds are expected to be light to moderate, though conditions at sea may vary at times. Residents planning early travel or outdoor activities are encouraged to stay updated on weather advisories, particularly in fog-prone areas.
The NCM continues to monitor conditions closely and will issue further alerts if visibility worsens. Motorists are urged to remain alert during early morning hours and plan journeys accordingly.
