Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), participated in a panel discussion as part of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 programme in Davos, reinforcing Dubai’s growing role in global conversations around culture, creativity, and sustainable development.
The panel brought together international leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss how culture and creative industries contribute to economic resilience, social cohesion, and future-ready cities. Sheikha Latifa highlighted the importance of integrating culture into development strategies, stressing that creativity is not a peripheral sector but a core driver of innovation and identity.
During the discussion, she outlined Dubai’s approach to nurturing talent, preserving heritage, and supporting creative ecosystems through policy, infrastructure, and global partnerships. She emphasised that cultural investment plays a critical role in shaping inclusive societies and strengthening dialogue across borders, particularly in a rapidly changing global landscape.
Her participation at Davos reflects Dubai Culture’s broader mission to position Dubai as a global centre for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent. Over recent years, Dubai has expanded initiatives supporting artists, designers, writers, and cultural entrepreneurs, aligning cultural growth with economic and social priorities.
The World Economic Forum provides a platform for cross-sector collaboration, and Sheikha Latifa’s presence underscored the UAE’s commitment to contributing thought leadership beyond traditional economic discussions. By placing culture at the heart of global policy conversations, the UAE aims to highlight its role in shaping more human-centred and sustainable futures.
Attendees noted the relevance of cultural perspectives in addressing global challenges, from urban development to digital transformation. The discussion reinforced the idea that culture is essential to resilience, helping societies adapt while maintaining identity and shared values.
As global leaders gather in Davos to chart paths forward, Sheikha Latifa’s participation reaffirmed Dubai’s belief that culture is not only a reflection of society but a powerful tool for progress, connection, and long-term impact.
