During the 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations, residents and visitors in Dubai should anticipate possible traffic disruptions on Tuesday afternoon due to increased traffic and police presence along key city routes, particularly in high-traffic areas like Bur Dubai, Deira, Jumeirah, and JBR. Authorities advise motorists to allow extra travel time, drive responsibly, and follow traffic regulations to ensure safety and a smooth experience.
According to a notice issued by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), motorists should expect congestion on Jumeirah Street – between the Union House intersection and the Burj Al Arab – on 2 December 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
The slowdown is expected as the city hosts the “Al Etihad Parade,” organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, in collaboration with the Events Security Committee in Dubai.
What is the Al Etihad Parade – when & where
The parade is part of the city’s broader “National Month” celebrations commemorating the UAE’s union and heritage.
Participants will gather at Dubai Maritime City at 3:00 PM, before proceeding along Jumeirah Road. The procession will begin at 4:00 PM, traverse from Union House to Burj Al Arab, and conclude at around 5:30 PM.
Over 30 volunteers from the Community Development Authority (CDA) will distribute more than 1,000 UAE flags to participants – adding to the festive spirit along the route.
RTA advisory & what drivers should know
While there is no full road closure, the RTA has warned that the stretch may see heavy traffic and urged motorists to plan ahead. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the affected section during the 90-minute window, use alternate routes, and follow traffic signs and official instructions.
Authorities also emphasise public safety: vehicles must comply with standard traffic rules. Participants in the parade are advised to stay in authorised processions, follow police directions, and avoid any risky behaviour such as abrupt stops, unsafe overtaking, or use of fireworks or loud celebratory stunts.
Why it matters
The Al Etihad Parade is more than just a public event – it’s a celebration of national unity, pride, and community spirit. As the city comes together to mark the 54th National Day, the parade offers residents and visitors a colourful display of patriotism and collective identity.
For many residents – especially those commuting during evening peak hours – the RTA’s advisory is a timely alert. The stretch from Union House to Burj Al Arab is a major arterial route often used by locals and tourists alike. Planning ahead will help avoid delays and ensure a smoother experience during the festivities.
