Motorists travelling along Ras Al Khor Road (E44) towards Meydan and Downtown Dubai faced severe delays on Tuesday following multiple traffic collisions, leading to extensive congestion during peak hours.
Authorities and traffic monitoring services reported massive tailbacks forming along key stretches of the road, with commuters experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes. What is typically a 25-minute journey was significantly extended, frustrating drivers and slowing traffic flow across connecting routes.
The congestion affected vehicles heading towards Downtown Dubai, Business Bay and Meydan, with knock-on delays reported on feeder roads as drivers attempted to reroute. Traffic moved at a crawl in several sections, particularly near accident sites, as emergency services worked to clear damaged vehicles and restore normal flow.
While no official details were immediately released regarding injuries, officials urged motorists to remain cautious and patient while navigating the affected areas. Drivers were advised to plan journeys, allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes where possible.
Road safety authorities also reminded motorists to maintain safe following distances, reduce speed near congestion points and avoid sudden lane changes, which often worsen traffic conditions during incidents.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) continues to monitor traffic conditions in real time and encourages motorists to stay updated via official traffic apps and alerts, especially during peak commuting hours.
Traffic conditions were expected to gradually improve once accident scenes were cleared, though delays may persist until volumes ease.
