Dubai Airport Set to Reach 100 Million Passengers Within 18 Months

Dubai, UAE — Dubai International Airport (DXB) is on track to welcome its 100 millionth passenger within the next 18 months, according to CEO Paul Griffiths.

The airport recorded a record 92.3 million passengers in 2024, its highest annual traffic ever. With growth continuing, DXB is approaching full capacity, prompting plans to gradually shift some airline operations to Dubai World Central (DWC) to accommodate future demand.

Investments in technology, including faster check-in systems and improved immigration processes, are helping streamline operations and enhance the passenger experience. Looking ahead, Dubai plans a new terminal at DWC with the capacity to serve up to 260 million passengers annually, with full operations expected to transition over the next decade.

This milestone highlights Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub and underscores its ambitions to expand infrastructure to meet long-term growth in air travel.
