Dubai’s healthcare system is fully prepared to support the New Year 2026 celebrations, with comprehensive medical coverage in place across major event locations, health authorities confirmed.
Officials said public and private healthcare providers have coordinated closely to ensure rapid emergency response during one of the city’s busiest nights of the year, as millions of residents and visitors gather for fireworks, concerts and festivities across the emirate.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has activated an enhanced readiness plan that includes deploying additional ambulance teams, medical staff and mobile clinics near high-density areas such as Downtown Dubai, major beaches, entertainment districts and public transport hubs. Emergency departments at government hospitals will operate at full capacity, with reinforced staffing and standby specialist teams.
Private hospitals and clinics have also been instructed to align with the citywide emergency framework, ensuring seamless coordination in case of medical incidents. Ambulance services will be strategically stationed to reduce response times, while command-and-control centres will monitor real-time developments throughout the night.
Authorities said special attention has been given to heat-related issues, crowd-related injuries and traffic incidents, as well as medical emergencies linked to fireworks displays and large gatherings. First-aid points will be available at several celebration zones, supported by trained medical volunteers.
Health officials have urged residents and visitors to follow safety guidelines, stay hydrated, and seek medical help immediately if needed. Those attending outdoor events are advised to plan their travel and be mindful of road closures and pedestrian-only zones.
Dubai Police, Civil Defence and other emergency services will work alongside healthcare teams to ensure swift access for ambulances and emergency vehicles. Officials stressed that public cooperation is essential to maintaining smooth operations during peak hours.
“With extensive planning and inter-agency coordination, Dubai’s healthcare system is fully equipped to handle New Year’s Eve demands,” officials said, adding that the priority remains protecting lives and ensuring celebrations conclude safely.
The preparedness measures form part of Dubai’s broader New Year operational plan, reflecting the emirate’s focus on safety, resilience and world-class emergency response as it welcomes 2026.
