Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a major infrastructure contract to upgrade the intersection of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, Al Awir Road, and Al Manama Street, a move set to dramatically improve traffic flow across a critical transport corridor.
Once completed, the project is expected to reduce travel time from 20 minutes to just 5 minutes, delivering a significant boost to daily commuting efficiency for residents, businesses, and logistics operators.
Traffic Capacity to Increase by 176%
According to RTA, the upgrade will increase traffic capacity by 176%, easing obstruction in one of Dubai’s rapidly developing areas. The project is designed to accommodate increasing traffic volumes, which are a consequence of regional expansion, new residential areas, and growing commercial activity
Authorities say the improvement will be instrumental in facilitating more efficient linkage between principal regions and adjacent road systems.
